Brooklyn Decker on Chelsea Lately!

Posted by andre with No Comments

Brooklyn Decker’s mastered modeling (as a Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Issue cover girl) and acting (in blockbusters like Battleship and Just Go With It). Now, she’s nailing the art of self-deprecation, too. For proof, just look to her recent stream of less-than-flattering selfies, or her appearance on Chelsea Lately last night:

Get the Flash Player to see the wordTube Media Player.

Asked by Chelsea if she was “done” with modeling, Brooklyn said she was—and she could’ve just left it at that. Instead, she continued, ribbing herself: “I wasn’t great when I was modeling, so I kind of left the second I could.” She then said she had a hard time looking “elegant and elongated” and had a terrible walk. “I never walked a runway because I was too klutzy. I could never get through a runway casting. I mean, I couldn’t walk!” And when Chelsea asked “Did you ever fall?” Brooklyn answered, “I never even got a chance to walk the runway. They didn’t hire me!”

Considering she counted Victoria’s Secret, Sports Illustrated, and The Gap as clients in her heyday, it’s tough to throw Brooklyn Decker a pity party for being an unhireable model, even if she was more “commercial” than high fashion (as Tyra would say). But we’ve gotta commend the girl for trying, because if you’ve already got a portfolio of swimsuit editorials.

You don’t really need to spend your time in the spotlight trumpeting your physical beauty. Instead, playing the self-deprecating card might be a smarter way to ensure you’re likeable and garner you some staying power for the future. In which case, comments like the ones Brooklyn made last night and selfies like these ones below should certainly do the trick, right?.

Brooklyn joins the cast of “Stretch”

Posted by clau with No Comments

Exciting news for everyone! Brooklyn has yet another project coming our way, it was announced that she’s now part of the cast of  the action-comedy Stretch.

Brooklyn Decker Set to ‘Stretch’ for Joe Carnahan and Jason Blum (Exclusive)
The low-budget action comedy stars Patrick Wilson, Chris Pine and Ed Helms

“Battleship” bombshell Brooklyn Decker will join Patrick Wilson, Chris Pine and Ed Helms in Joe Carnahan’s low-budget action-comedy “Stretch,” TheWrap has learned.

Wilson stars as a down-on-his-luck limo driver named Stretch who hopes to relieve his debt to a bookie by driving around a mysterious billionaire (Pine) trying to sell his ledger of criminal associates to the highest bidder.

According to an individual familiar with the project, Decker will play Wilson’s ex-girlfriend, a wild material girl who is engaged to be married to another man.

Helms co-stars as another limo driver who serves as Stretch’s conscience and reminds him that his actions will eventually have consequences.

Jason Blum, Tracy Falco and Carnahan are producing the indie movie, which has been pulling together an impressive cast of stars with strong fan bases. Blumhouse International is handling foreign sales for the movie, which starts production this summer with Leon Corcos co-producing.

Decker is a former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl who made her big screen debut as Adam Sandler’s love interest in the 2011 Sony comedy “Just Go With It.” After playing Taylor Kitsch’s girlfriend in Universal’s “Battleship,” she played Dennis Quaid’s wife in Lionsgate’s motherhood comedy “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.” Decker has also appeared on several popular TV series and enjoys a recurring role as Gina Gibiatti on FX’s “The League.”

She’s repped by the Gersh Agency, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and attorney James S. Adams.

Brooklyn Decker Set For Stretch
She’s joining Joe Carnahan’s latest

Surprisingly, appearing in Just Go With It, Battleship and What To Expect When You’re Expecting did not put Brooklyn Decker off films for life. Now she’s joining what should be the best film of her career so far, adding a little female energy to the boys’ club that is Joe Carnahan’s Stretch.

The details on this one seem to shift and change with each new news report on casting, but here’s the current state of play: Patrick Wilson plays a down-on-his-luck limo driver deep in debt to a bookie. The driver sees a chance to score some cash by driving a mysterious billionaire (Chris Pine) around.

Trouble is, this isn’t just a fun ride around clubs and swanky restaurants: the client is looking to sell his list of criminal associates to the highest bidder, which naturally means the trip from hell.

Ed Helms is aboard to play a fellow limo driver who cautions our hero not to get into too much trouble. We’re not sure he listens. Decker is set as Wilson’s ex-girlfriend, a label-obsessed party girl.

Carnahan is shooting this one on a low budget with backing from Jason Blum’s company. We’d expect it to roll into cinemas next year.

There’s only a little bit of info on the movie and Brooklyn’s role but we will be updating the website as soon as we get news.

Hey, Brooklyn Decker: Do Women Like Facial Hair?

Hey, Brooklyn Decker: Do Women Like Facial Hair?
Not sure if you should shave before your big date? This hot actress and model has answers to all of your questions about scruff.
Maggie Parker

Brooklyn Decker On Taking It All OffSkincare 101: The Perfect Shave
So you have a big date and you aren’t sure if she prefers scruff or skin. What do you do?
We tracked down the multitalented and gorgeous Brooklyn Decker at the Gillette Kiss & Tell event in New York City a few weeks ago to find out how she feels about kissing men with facial hair. And while she can’t speak for all women, we figure she’s a good place to start, right?
Because—let’s be honest—you’d shave almost anything to please her.
***
Q: What’s your take on facial hair?
A: Facial hair is a really good look, but it’s a really bad feel. I actually like the way a little scruff looks, but I’m sorry, I don’t want a beard rash on my face the first time I kiss a guy. That’s the worst. And we’re expected to shave our legs for men, so why aren’t men required to shave their faces for women?!
Q: But girls like the soft scruff, don’t they?
A: Yes, it definitely is cute. But it takes weeks to grow out before a beard is soft. If you are going to be kissing a girl for the first time, don’t put her through the pain of two-day-old stubble. Think about if a girl had a full mustache and she was coming in to kiss you. It would hurt! And a guy would whine about it, just like they whine when a sweater’s not the softest thing they’ve ever touched. So I feel like it’s only fair that guys keep a groomed face.
Q: So basically if you’re planning to kiss a girl, you should be clean?
A: Yeah. Keep it clean. That stubble gives girls rashes, and it also makes a girl break out because of hair oils. So if you insist on having facial hair, at least maintain it so it’s not dirty.

Q: Is there one facial hair style that you think guys need to retire or avoid?
A: No chin strap. Goatees work on some guys, right? And beards work on a lot of guys. But I’ve never seen a chinstrap look good.

ABOUT THE HOT GIRL: You may recognize Brooklyn Decker as the scantily clad blonde on the cover of 2010’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (which she has appeared in six times—thank you, SI!), but her talents don’t stop there. Check her out in movies like Battleship and What to Expect When You’re Expecting.

Stylecaster discusses Valentine’s Day with Brooklyn

SUPERMODEL BROOKLYN DECKER ON WHY SHE NEVER SPENDS VALENTINE’S DAY WITH HUSBAND ANDY RODDICK

In honor of Valentine’s Day tomorrow, Gillette is hosting the World’s Largest Shave & Kiss Event tomorrow in New York at the Time Warner Center, and the event will feature an appearance from established model and aspiring actress Brooklyn Decker. As a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, she’s nabbed quite a fan following—us among them!—and with recent roles on Fox’s “The New Girl” and the movie “Battleship,” it would seem Decker is just getting started.

We caught up with the supermodel today to chat about everything from her date night style to why she never spends Valentine’s Day with her husband Andy Roddick. Read on to hear about her upcoming event with Gillette, as well as her biggest recent splurge!

StyleCaster: When it comes to date night, how do you like to dress?

Brooklyn Decker: I’m definitely more of a tomboy than I am a feminine girl. If it’s a special day—like a birthday or holiday—I’ll try to make an effort and I’ll put on a dress, but generally, it’s just jeans and a T-shirt for me!

You’re married to former tennis star Andy Roddick. What’s been your most memorable Valentine’s Day together?

Well, Valentine’s Day always falls over the same week as the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue reveal, so I’ve been with my girlfriends on Valentine’s Day for the past six years. It’s actually a really fun way to spend the day! Andy and I aren’t huge celebrators—I haven’t gotten him a great present, I should work on that!

What’s the nicest thing he’s ever done for you?

I can’t share that! He’ll be embarrassed. That’s for me to know.

Tell us a little bit about your work with Gillette.

I’ve worked with Gillette in the past, and we did this really fun project called the Kiss and Tell experiment. We surveyed tons of women as to whether or not they preferred kissing a clean shaven guy or a stubbly guy. 85% of women said a clean shaven guy was more desirable, so tomorrow at Time Warner Center in New York we’re going to be helping guys out so they can get some action. We’re trying to break two records: The amount of kisses a couple can exchange in a minute, and the largest shave lesson in history. It’s funny to think there are already records for these, but there are!

Do you have anything in your closet that you’ll never get rid of?

I’m a bit of a hoarder so I have a bit of a hard time getting rid of my clothes. I have an annual “gift to your girlfriends” thing. Lsat year I went to the Met Ball with Tory Burch and she gave me two pairs of fox-printed flats and I wear them all the time and I’ll never get rid of them. I also have this T-shirt that my dad actually made with paint and it has a racecar on it! I wear it all the time, it fits perfectly.

Do you have any recent splurges that you’re excited about?

Way too many! I just bought a pair of Isabel Marant boots. I wear her stuff all the time. They’re sort of a flat motorcycle boot with stars on them.

Brooklyn Decker’s Perfect Date

Brooklyn Decker’s Perfect Date

by Andrew Daniels February 14, 2013, 01:15 pm EST

Yes, THIS woman is spending Valentine’s Day alone.
Only one guy is lucky enough to call actress/model Brooklyn Decker his Valentine today—that would be her husband, retired tennis great Andy Roddick—and he’s not even around to take her out tonight.
“Andy’s in California, so we won’t be celebrating Valentine’s,” says the 25-year-old beauty, best known for iconic spreads in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and roles in flicks like Just Go with It and Battleship. But Decker isn’t exactly spending the holiday alone. “Instead, I’ll be watching a bunch of couples make out with each other.”

Relax, guys—she won’t be swapping any spit. Decker partnered with Gillette to see which kind of shave women across the country find sexiest. The results: 85 percent of women surveyed preferred a clean-shaven guy to one with stubble. So today, Decker’s in New York City to help break two world records: “The first one is the world’s largest shaving lesson—and there’s already an existing record for this, which I find to be so bizarre—and then after they get the guys clean-shaven, they’re going to try to break the record for the most kisses between a couple in 1 minute.”

Just another February 14, right? Before the event, we asked Decker to offer up her best Valentine’s Day advice—and you might be surprised to hear her stance on the holiday. Plus, she reveals her weekend plans (“air humping” and Beyoncé), sheds insight on Kate Upton’s new SI cover, and officially comments on being named one of our 100 Hottest Women of All Time.

MH: Why do you think women want a clean-shaven guy?

Decker: Well, it’s funny. I actually kind of like the look of a 5 o’clock shadow. I like a little bit of a stubble, because I think it’s kind of like mountain man-ish. But the thing is, no girl likes to feel like she has sandpaper on her face. Like if Andy has facial hair and he gives me a kiss, I leave with a little red mark on my face. So girls end up getting burn beards on their faces, which is never fun. That’s where the preference to kissing clean-shaven men comes in, which is why I think the study was so skewed in one direction.

MH: So you don’t like Andy with a beard.

Decker: Well I think it looks good that way, but I prefer to give him a kiss if it’s nice and soft, and not going to scratch my face up.

MH: Should I go run home and shave right now, so I’ve got a smooth face tonight?

Decker: Yes! That’s a really cute gift, and honestly a strong hint for a girl to drop for a guy. Because let’s be honest: We’re expected to shave our legs, right? If you’re going to kiss a girl and touch her legs, you don’t want to touch a forest—so why isn’t a guy expected to shave his face?

MH: Fair enough. While we’re on the topic, what’s your ideal Valentine’s date?

Decker: I’ve never been a big celebrator of Valentine’s Day, which sounds like I’m being Scrooge. But coincidentally, it’s the same week the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition always comes out, so I’m always with those girls. For me it was always a time to be with my girlfriends as opposed to actually celebrating the holiday, so I don’t have any plans tonight. I think it’s a really nice day, but if you have to have plans on a calendar to show somebody you like them, you’ve got to work a little bit harder.

MH: Valentine’s aside, what’s date night like in the Decker-Roddick household?

Decker: Well, our group of friends is crazy. Like, this weekend in Austin, all of our friends are getting together to watch the Air Sex World Championship. I’m so excited. It’s like an air guitar contest, but with air humping. I’m not participating, I’m only watching. But the best part about it is people had to win their state to actually make it to nationals! [Laughs]

MH: Wait, there were 50 air humping contests before this one?

Decker: Apparently! Our friend saw it advertised in Austin and said we had to come on down for it. It’s just too good not to watch. But my point with that is we always try to find really funny things for us to do with our friends. We have Sunday Fundays. Like, we’re having a Beyoncé dress-up event for her documentary premiere on Sunday. So it’s never really fancy dinners. We’re just having a really good time with all of our buddies.

MH: Besides a stubble-free face, what else can guys do to impress their women today?

Decker: Even though I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, I definitely don’t think it should be ignored. Because it’s Valentine’s and your girl’s probably seeing people around her get things, I think a card’s really sweet. Or a nice, thoughtful note. That would mean so much more to a girl than a big show of flowers and chocolates and dinner and all that. And while I’m sure a lot of girls like that and it’s very nice, a sweet note is fine. You’re acknowledging the holiday, but you don’t necessarily need a holiday to show affection. You don’t have to go all out.

MH: You know, you’re letting a lot of guys off the hook . . .

Decker: I know! Watch me get a ton of guys in trouble for saying that. [Laughs]

MH: Last year, we ranked you the 50th hottest woman of all time. Some of us around here thought that was way too low. I’ll give you a chance to yell at us and demand to be higher.

Decker: No, please! Are you kidding me? I can’t be complaining for being on the hot list. That’s awesome. If guys are fighting for me, I totally appreciate their efforts. Continue to fight the good fight, gentlemen.

MH: As a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue veteran, what do you think of Kate Upton’s new cover?

Decker: I love it. I love that they went to Antarctica. That’s so wild, and that’s never happened, so I think it’s a really beautiful cover.

MH: Apparently Upton said her body shut down after the shoot, since it was so cold there.

Decker: Really? I’ve never been. I went to Alaska for a shoot once, and that was hard enough, but that’s mild compared to Antarctica. I can’t even imagine. Where do you even fly to get to Antarctica? I don’t even know how that works.

MH: Beats me. Sadly, you won’t be appearing in this year’s issue.

Decker: I didn’t do it last year either. It’s funny: I kind of kicked off my career with SI, and the last modeling photoshoot I ever did was with the magazine. But ever since then, it’s been all acting. I miss the girls, and I miss the editors, because they were like family to me. But I did it for 7 years, so it got to a point where it was just time to do different things. For me to really try to be an actor, I think I had to give up the modeling thing.

MH: So it’s officially off the table?

Decker: Yeah. I haven’t done anything in 2 years. I don’t think it’ll happen again any time soon. Sorry!

MH: You just broke the heart of every guy in America.

Decker: Oh my gosh! Have you seen the other girls? Like, Marisa Miller did it for 7 or 8 years, and she left. People missed her, but they’re always bringing in new girls. I loved my time with them, obviously. They gave me my career. But I did my time, and it’s time for other girls to get their chance and kick some butt.
