Brooklyn Decker didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day

Brooklyn Decker and Andy Roddick did “nothing” on Valentine’s Day (02.14.15).

The 27-year-old actress, who has been married to the professional tennis player since 2009, admits they didn’t celebrate the romantic holiday last Saturday.

The ‘Grace and Frankie’ star said: “I’m so boring. I’m the worst. I’ll need to up my game next year.”

Asked if she plans to watch the erotic film ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ with her husband, the blonde beauty told E! News: “I feel like I don’t have a choice because it’s such like a cultural thing, but don’t really feel like seeing it in theaters. I probably will see it On Demand so I could watch by myself at home.”

But she claims Andy, 32, has never even heard of the best-selling novel which spawned the film.

She joked: “He’s like, ‘Fifty Shades of what?’ ”

Despite not being a fan of Valentine’s Day, Brooklyn previously admitted she instantly knew Andy was ‘the one’ for her.

Speaking last year, she said: “Is it cliched to say, ‘You just know?’ You just do. I think it’s someone who is a good teammate. You can have someone that you love, someone that you are super passionate about, and someone that is your perfect match, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are a good teammate. Having someone to go to bat for you and with you is the biggest thing.

“He’s just the most clever person I’ve ever met. He has such a quick mind, which at times can be incredibly frustrating because he’s always quicker than I am. He’s so clever, and his humour is very snarky. It always makes me laugh.”

The First Look at Brooklyn Decker’s Short Hair

Allure Exclusive: The First Look at Brooklyn Decker’s Short Hair

Brooklyn Decker is the latest celebrity to part with her long, tumbling waves and join Kate Mara, Emma Stone, and Halle Berry in the clan of the lob. “I get bored very easily and wanted to chop it off,” says the actress. “And Sienna Miller’s cropped cut made my decision very easy.” We got the first look at Decker’s awesome new cut and spoke with the team behind it.

“I made the first ten-inch chop to prepare for Brooklyn’s color, and everyone was very excited,” says colorist Rona O’Connor of the Lukaro Salon in Beverly Hills. She lightened Decker’s base tone to a golden blonde, added threads of ivory and strawberry for dimension, and faded the ends to a pale champagne for a sun-kissed look. Then Rona’s husband (and Lukaro co-owner), Luke O’Connor, stepped in to create the bob.

The first step was to tackle thickness. “She has so much hair, and that’s not a problem when it’s long—the more the better. But for her new bob, my challenge was to it thin out so it didn’t expand into what I call the sphinx look: flat on top and wide at the bottom,” says Luke. He started by lightening the bulk of hair underneath with thinning shears. “They’re measured by the percentage of hair they cut out of each section,” he says. “For example, I have 10, 20, 30, and 50 percent pairs. For Brooklyn, I pulled out the 50 percent one.” Then Luke cut vertically into the outer layer of hair to blend all the lengths together and create a jagged edge. “I like that I sort of look like a dude. It feels much more rock and roll now,” says Decker.

Oh and yes, Decker is wearing a T-shirt with a picture of herself picking her nose. On the plus side, it’s for charity!

Brooklyn Decker has been involved with Special Olympics since she was a kid.

Having an aunt with intellectual disabilities, the actress and model, 27, is thankful for the kindness and support the organization has always provided.

“They hosted events every weekend, and she always looked forward to participating and was so proud to bring home a medal,” Decker tells PEOPLE. “I saw how important the organization was to her life.”

“I remember in elementary school, we had a program that involved many athletes with intellectual disabilities, and their goal was to get students involved with those students,” she recalls. “They wanted to introduce this idea of inclusion, which is what Special Olympics does so well, especially with unified sports. It was so impactful to me.”

Decker has continued her childhood involvement throughout the years and after serving as a national ambassador and was recently named a global ambassador for Special Olympics.

And she’s not the only one in her family lending their support.

“I’m no athlete, but I do know one [husband and tennis pro Andy Roddick],” she says, “and he’s done a fantastic job helping with the cause as well.”

First look: Stretch

First Look at Chris Pine, Patrick Wilson, and Brooklyn Decker in ‘Stretch’ From Joe Carnahan
Posted on Tuesday, September 9th, 2014 by Russ Fischer

stretch-chris-pine-550x366001

Joe Carnahan shot a film called Stretch last year, with Chris Pine, Jessica Alba, Patrick Wilson, and Brooklyn Decker in the cast. Originally set to be released by Universal, it’s not your average studio movie — for instance, that’s Chris Pine in the film, above. Pine’s character is a billionaire who has a shady deal in mind, and recruits the main character of the movie, a chauffeur played by Patrick Wilson, to drive him around as he gets things in motion.

Carnahan himself has said it’s a weird movie, and it has gone through a bit of a weird phase. Originally set for release this past March, the Jason Blum-produced Stretch has been in a sort of limbo as it finds a new release plan. Now Carnahan is releasing the first pictures (and a very small bit of video) from the film, and you can see just how wild it might be.

Here’s what Angie wrote summarizing the plot:

The under-$5 million pic follows a chauffeur who’s deep in debt to a bookie. In the hope of scoring a big tip, he picks up a risky job ferrying around a mysterious billionaire (Pine) who wants to sell his book of criminal contacts. The driver tries his best to fulfill all of his client’s requests, but the night takes ever stranger turns, he starts to wonder if his life is in danger. Helms plays a fellow chauffeur who serves as his conscience. Brooklyn Decker [plays] Wilson’s wild and materialistic ex, who’s now engaged to another man.

The images all come from the Stretch twitter account.
Germain talked to Carnahan a few months ago, and the director was brutally honest about his love for the film, and about some of the difficulties it faces.

[Stretch] was a five million dollar film. It was 23 days. I love Patrick Wilson. I love Chris Pine. And we made what I consider, and I’m telling you, dude, wait till you see this film. It’s fucking great. The problem right now is it’s like a kid that’s wandering around the house. He’s dirty, he needs a haircut, he needs a new set of clothes. If you just put that on him, scrub him up and you send him out in the world, he can make a living. It’s like I just need to finish this properly. And because of this Blumhouse model, it’s like ‘Well there’s X amount of dollars.’ And, you know, the songs I want, which are so huge and such a part of the film, exceed the bandwidth if the budgetary thing. So there’s that. There’s a lot of things.

But I guess the most disappointing part of that whole thing is that the movie’s so good, and I have final cut, and I guess I was also kind of resistant to whatever notes I was hearing, which didn’t really jibe with what we had in mind. The movie I ultimately wanted to make. Now, in doing so and looking at what you’re marketing, it’s something that’s quirky.

We really want to see Stretch, especially after catching a look at some of these images. Here’s hoping that Carnahan’s film gets in front of an audience, and that it stays weird.
