Brooklyn Decker Heads to Special Olympics World Games in Greece

Heart of gold!

As a body that’s graced countless magazine covers including the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, Brooklyn Decker is one of Hollywood’s hottest stunners. And proving that she’s beautiful both inside and out, the star recently opened up to Us Weekly about her post as Special Olympics Ambassador.

For the past year and a half, the 24-year-old model and actress has been involved with the Special Olympics, which will kick off its World Summer Games in Athens, Greece June 25.

“[My aunt] is a Special Olympics athlete, so I grew up around the organization,” she told Us in a June 16 interview. “I would go to her practices and play with all the athletes and hang out and it was a really kind of fun way to spend my weekend. When I started working in this business, I wanted to get involved on the official, national level. So about a year and a half ago, I got officially involved in the Special Olympics.”

And just like Decker’s tennis-star hubby Andy Roddick, her aunt still plays tennis and basketball in the games. Roddick, 28, also has a role in helping out the organization.

“He sends the team tennis shoes, T-shirts, and a lot of Lacoste clothes,” Decker said. “All the extra stuff he gets he tries to send out to North Carolina so all the athletes are decked out in Lacoste.”

This will be Decker’s first World Games — she emceed the Special Olympics National Games last year in Nebraska.

“It’s really special, and I know all the athletes are really excited and they are all getting their passports,” she said. “There are 3.7 million Special Olympics athletes around the world and it’s actually very cool because this year at the World Games they have 180 countries attending. I think this represents unity and tolerance of all races, nationalities, and ability. I think there is something really special about that.”

Videos of Brooklyn at the MTV Movie Awards

When it comes to dressing for the red carpet, Just Go With It star Brooklyn Decker has a secret weapon to help avoid wardrobe malfunctions.

At Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards in Universal City, Calif., Andy Roddick’s supermodel wife told Us Weekly she used packing tape to secure the hem of her gold No. 21 dress.

“You can use it for so many things on the red carpet” Decker, 24, joked to Us.

Throw that scale away!

Posted by andre with No Comments

Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker may have made a splash in a teeny-tiny yellow bikini in her debut film, “Just Go With It,” but the Ohio native has a unique piece of advice on how to get her killer figure: Chuck the scale!

“Throw it out the window,” declares Decker. “I got rid of mine three years ago, and I haven’t been on one since. When you put on muscle, you gain weight, and it has nothing to do with size.”

The bodacious blonde doesn’t waste time dreaming of cheeseburgers, “Eating is more fulfilling if you talk about what you should eat rather than what you shouldn’t,” the 24-year old explained to Self magazine. “Instead of worrying about what foods might have too much fat or sugar, think, ‘Oh I should eat these blueberries for the antioxidants.’”

Decker eats “clean” throughout the day, “For breakfast, I usually have Greek yogurt and lots of berries or an egg-white omelet,” she tells Us Weekly.

For snacks, Decker goes nuts, “(They’re) my favorite snack,” she says. “I love nuts, I love berries, and I love hummus, so I’ll have hummus with carrots or pita. And, for me, I think snacking’s so important. When you snack, it helps maintain your metabolism throughout the day. You don’t get hungry, and you fill your body with nutrients.”

To get Decker’s bikini-ready body, you have to eat right and (gulp!) exercise, “I’m curvier and more athletic than the typical-size model, so I work out,” she explained to OK! magazine. “A lot of girls are like ‘I eat a cheeseburger, and I’m a size zero.’ Me? No way! I have to workout, and it’s part of my life and I love it. I do yoga, cardio, boxing – everything. For me, it’s about mixing things up and staying in shape.”

Yoga is one of Decker’s favorite exercises, ” I noticed it really enhanced my other workouts because I work out like an athlete,” she explains. “I go for long runs or spin classes and I do weights, which I think a lot of women are scared of. I think it’s so important to do weights, because they don’t make you bigger, they make you more lean and toned and all that good stuff.”

Decker lifts weights faithfully, “I do free weights three days a week,” she says. “I do walking lunges with a weight, then squats, then rotating twists with a plate on my chest, and then arms, too. Having more muscle means burning more calories, which is a reason guys lose weight faster than women. Lifting makes me leaner.”

And to keep your stomach as flat as Decker’s, do sit-ups—every day, “Do 10 or 15 or 20 or 50, however many you can do. Just do them. If your core is strong your back will be strong.”

Decker’s final piece of bikini advice? “The most important thing is to have a suit that covers enough and supports your boobies! At the beach, you don’t want to be vulgar, you want to feel radiant.”

Beauty Crush: Brooklyn Decker’s Ultra-Lush Lashes

Posted by andre with No Comments

Brooklyn Decker’s Ultra-Lush Lashes

Let’s be honest, Brooklyn Decker could show up on a red carpet wearing sweatpants, flip-flops and a scrunchie in her hair and she’d still look better than most of the actresses in Hollywood. In fact, during a recent visit to the Us Weekly offices, the 23-year-old Just Go With It star looked radiant despite minimal makeup and a bout of bronchitis (we know, life isn’t fair).

That’s why we weren’t surprised that she stood out like a well, gorgeous Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Not only did we love her off-the-shoulder ruffled dress by Joy Cioci, which was a refreshing alternative to the sea of sparkly micro mini dresses, but we were also big fans of her pretty makeup, specifically her ultra-lush lashes. So we asked her makeup pro, Brian Haugen, for the scoop on how to recreate the look.

“On her eyes, I used CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast in Silver Sky and Purple Pume. I defined her upper lash line with black liner and used a silver hue on the lower lash line. For the lashes, I used individual long and medium Ardel false lashes, positioning more on the outer half of the eye. The trick is to lift your chin and look down in a mirror when you’re applying them so you can see exactly where you’re placing them.I finished by brushing on multiple coats of CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion mascara.”
